preserve old selected options with select2

0

I have applied select2 successfuly, and i could set default selected options which works fine, but when i choose new option i want to preserve those previously selected options in select box, but it resets selected to only the new option and sure i can add to it but i need to preserve old selected ones.

Here are select2 code:

if($('#mr_selected_extra_services_ids').val()){

var values = JSON.parse($('#mr_selected_extra_services_ids').val());
$('#extra_services').select2();
$('#extra_services').val(values);
$('#extra_services').trigger('change');
}

#mr_selected_extra_services_ids is hidden input contains JSON string of preselected options. So i could parse it and pass its value to val, and it works fine. is there any option that should be set to preserve old selected, or how to make it work?
