How to stop a request pipeline at actionfilter level using ASP.NET CORE 2.1?
I am trying to catch all 4xx errors that are produced during the request processing pipeline using asp.net core 2.
Here goes my flow:
HTTP Request -> Middleware -> OnActionExecutionAsync (Action Filter) -> Back to the Middleware
Now here during the OnActionExecutionAsync method, I want to process the response and check for the 4xx errors and set all the details using a class and serialize it and send it back to the consumer instead of passing the request back to the middleware.
Here goes the code details:
public class ValidationProblemDetailsResult : IAsyncActionFilter
{
public async Task OnActionExecutionAsync(ActionExecutingContext context, ActionExecutionDelegate next)
{
var responseContext = await next();
if (responseContext.Result is ObjectResult result && result is BadRequestObjectResult)
{
var problemDetails = new ValidationProblemDetails
{
Status = result.StatusCode,
Title = "Request Validation Error",
Instance = $"urn:TestApplication:badrequest:{Guid.NewGuid()}"
};
responseContext.Canceled = false;
responseContext.HttpContext.Response.WriteJson(problemDetails, "application/problem+json");
}
}
}
Can anyone help me to know how to fix this issue?
