How to get the height of an SVG Group element after transform?

0

I have the following group element using SVG and I am trying to get the height of it after transformation has been applied.

<g class="text1" style="transform: matrix(1,0,0,1,0,0);">
<path...></path>
</g>

If I run $(".text1").get(0).getBBox().height, I get 153.

However, when I change the transformation to transform: matrix(1,0,0,0.1,0,0), which shortens the height of the element, if I recheck the height using the same method I still get 153.

    getBBox() always gives you the values excluding the transform on the element itself as you've discovered by experiment. You could put another <g> round it all and get the bounding box of that.
