Asp.Net Web Forms site migrating from 4.0 to 4.7 web.config question

0

I transferred my site to a new hosting provider that uses .net 4.7, whereas my old provider was 4.0. I modified my web.config file accordingly, but am still getting server 500 internal error. I'm wondering if it has to do with the version property in the add assembly tags. Here's a snippet from web.config:

<compilation debug="true" targetFramework="4.7">
<assemblies>
<add assembly="System.Security, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B03F5F7F11D50A3A" />
<add assembly="System.Data.Entity, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" />
<add assembly="System.Data.Entity.Design, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" />
<add assembly="System.Web.Extensions.Design, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" />
<add assembly="System.Design, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B03F5F7F11D50A3A" />
<add assembly="System.Windows.Forms, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089" />
</assemblies>
<buildProviders>

Do I need to change 4.0.0.0 to 4.7.0.0 or some equivalent?
Thanks.

  • Have you tried <customErrors mode="Off" /> to see the actual error?
