Configuring log4j in 3rd party android app

0

I am using a 3rd party library in an Android app that makes use of log4j, and as I'd like to see some of the debug logging from this library, I need to work out how to configure the log4j output to show in Logcat.

Currently I get the following error in Logcat -:

W/System.err: log4j:WARN No appenders could be found for logger (com.package.Class).
W/System.err: log4j:WARN Please initialize the log4j system properly.

I am familiar with log4j in a standard Java application and use the same library in Java with no issues. I assume that I need to place the standard log4j.xml configuration file somewhere in the Android application, but I've not worked out where this should go (or maybe there's something else required)?
