Unity compiles with AnyCPU and x64 .dlls, but not x86 .dlls

0

I have a Unity project that uses both .NET3.5 C# .dll and native C++ .dll.
First of all, the project builds and runs when I use the following build settings for the plugins:

  • For C# Dlls: Debug AnyCPU

  • For C++ Dlls: Release x64

However, I want to build the entire project in a 32 bit format, so here is what I do:

  • Change all unity settings from AnyCPU to x86

  • Build C# Dll: Release x86

  • Build C++ Dll: Release x86

At this point, I cannot seem to reference any DLL's that I have built, aka The type or namespace name does not exist in the namespace (are you missing an assembly reference?)

What could be the reason for Unity not being able to find x86 dlls?
