BackupManager requestRestore() is deprecated in 28+ (Android P+)
I am trying to store device UUID to the Google backup.
This solution has been presented by Reto Meier from Google in a Google I/O presentation according to this blog.
This would have worked for me. However, requestRestore() is deprecated for Android P+.
I want to call requestRestore() every time an app is launched. This way even if a user clears the app cache or manually deletes the local sharedpreference, the UUID will be restored from the Backup again.
How can I work around my issue without requestRestore() method?
