Get every alternating nth line from text file and stream the result
I am developing a small application with flask. I am writing out the index of a 2d array to a text file in the following format.
1
0
0
0
0
1
0
1
0
2
2
0
2
0
2
1
1
1
0
1
0
2
2
0
2
0
2
1
2
1
2
0
2
1
2
2
1
2
Every first line is the x coordinate and every 2nd line is the y coordinate.
I'm reading the file from a flask app:
f = open('static/test.txt', 'r')
lines = f.readlines()
def g():
count = 0
for i in lines:
count += 1
if count %2 ==0:
conv_int_x = int(i)
time.sleep(.2) # an artificial delay
yield conv_int_x
f.close()
return Response(stream_template('index.html', data=g()))
and in my template I'm getting the data out for the x coordinate.
{% for i in data %}
<script>
var x = {{i}}
// var y =
context.clearRect(0, 0, 500, 500);
drawBoard();
drawShape(2, 0, 'green');
drawShape(2, 1, 'red');
drawShape(x, 0,'yellow');
</script>
{% endfor %}
The problem I'm having is streaming the y coordinate with the x coordinate to two separate variables. I had a y coordinate being yielded with the x coordinate but the front end was not displaying the proper behaviour.
I was using {{i[0]}} and {{i[1]}} to get both variables out to the front end and it was working but there was something not right with my loop and conditions set.
It is working fine when the x coordinate is being streamed by itself.
I have rolled back the code to the working version with only the x variable being streamed.
If anyone can point me in the right direction on how to get both x and y variables out to the front end it would be greatly appreciated.
