System.TypeLoadException strange error appears when calling dll from another project

0

I get an error when I try to run this function:

var directory = directoriesController.Create(Input);

The Error

System.TypeLoadException: 'Could not load type
'CentralApplicationSettings.Configuration.DirectoryManager' from
assembly 'CentralApplicationSettings, Version=1.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.'

This is the structure of my solution (Application1)

  1. UI

  2. Application

  3. Repo

Repo references another projects .dll

These are the references I have in my Application1 csproj

<ItemGroup>
<ProjectReference Include="..Application1.DataApplication1.Data.csproj" />
</ItemGroup>

<ItemGroup>
<Reference Include="CentralApplicationSettings">
<HintPath>....CentralApplicationSettingsCentralApplicationSettingsbinDebugnetcoreapp2.1CentralApplicationSettings.dll</HintPath>
</Reference>
</ItemGroup>

I have tried to remove and re-add the references via the reference window or the .csproj directly, recompile and rerun but it still appears.

  • This is after adding a new class to that dll. It seems to be able to pick up the new class but not use it.
