Alsamixer: Volume control channels detached from each other

Standardly, I used alsamixer for volume control, which was used mainly from the keyboard. I lately installed pavucontrol, later uninstalled it. Since the install, the mute button on my keyboard works decoupled from the different channels. Namely, muting mutes the master and the from the 'Channel to operate' selected channel (eg. speaker, headphone). Then, unmuting only unmutes the operated channel, but leaves the master channel muted.
To get the wished 'state', I have to launch the mixer.
What is necessary to control the volume solely with the keyboard?
I run the following operating system on my Lenovo X1: Linux debian 4.9.0-6-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.88-1+deb9u1 (2018-05-07) x86_64 GNU/Linux
