Creating notation for a sequence of gradually ordered sequences?

I'm creating a statistical model where I have nine ordered variables (which I'm representing here with integers 1 to 9). I want to create notation for each variable gradually accumulating with the previous variables, in an accumulative sequence up until all nine variables are represented.

So the very basic model would first have:

1

then

1 + 2

up until..

1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9

In addition, how can I represent dependency with notation? So variable 2 is dependent on 1 being included in the model, variable 3 is dependent on 1 and 2 and so on..

This question is probably very banal so apologies, my math isn't great..
