Is the application comes from Receiver same with the application comes from Activity or Service?

I know Application always starts before Activity, Service, and Receiver. For example, When I click the launcher to start MainActivity, the application starts first. We can call it application A; Another one is the application starts when a receiver receive an intent from Android. We call it Application B.
My question is: is Application A exactly the same with B?
