Mkdir permission failure

I'm getting a permission failure when I run mkdir mydir
.
I'd normally just run sudo mkdir mydir
but the problem is that I am running a script which creates the directory and I can't modify that script. I also can't run sudo
on that script as it explicitly forces you not to.
As such I'd like to know how to give myself permission to mkdir
.
I am in the path: /Users/myUserName
.
permissions filesystems file-permissions
