Bulk action frontend & backend validation - one source of rules
I fetch array of objects from API and display them in table. User may select these objects and perform bulk actions. There are many bulk actions and each of them may be performed only if all selected objects fulfill particular criteria, e. g.:
- field X is greater than 5;
- all selected objects have same Y field value
- all selected objects have same Z field value OR Z field value === 7
Everytime selection changes I verify which buttons (representing bulk actions) may be enabled.
Bulk action request (action type and selected objects ids) is verified on backend using the same set of rules.
How can I avoid writing the same logic in backend and frontend? I was thinkign about writing actions and corresponding rules in some db where they can be retreived by frontend or backend, but I can't think of syntax for such rules (especially when it comes to 'all selected objects have same value in X field').
Any ideas?
Backend is written in Spring, Angular on front.
