Why do I able to query WebHDFS after disabling it?

I disabled WebHDFS for security reasons. After service restart I checked dfs.webhdfs.enabled
property to be false
. But I can still perform queries against WebHDFS interface. For example I can get content summary
GET /webhdfs/v1/?user.name=hdfs&op=GETCONTENTSUMMARY
returns content summary information.
Why I am able to do this and how to disable WebHDFS completely?
security hadoop hdfs webhdfs

Did you actually reboot the namenode(s)?

@cricket_007 yes, I can see property value inhdfs-site.xml

Just because you edit the file, does not mean that value immediately takes affect while the process is running... You must stop the namenode, then restart it

@cricket_007, sorry for ambiguance, I forgot to mention, that I have restarted all components of HDFS through the Ambari interface

Ah, then yeah, that should work, in theory. I've not tried it recently, though, actually
