Unable to get Docker working from outside the toolbox

0

I'm using Docker Toolbox on Windows 10, and up till now have been using the CLI that came with it. I typically use Cygwin, so wanted to try to get it working there, and from all my searching found this command (or variants thereof):

eval $("docker-machine env default")

However when I run this, I get

Error checking TLS connection: Host is not running

The machine is definitely running, and works in the Docker CLI, as well as the Windows command line. Am I missing a command to get my VM to be able to communicate with Cygwin?
