Eclipse producing error “No grammar constraints (DTD or XML Schema) referenced in the document” when...

Why is Eclispe producing the error:

No grammar constraints (DTD or XML Schema) referenced in the document

When the XML does reference a Schema?

enter image description here

Also, the schema does NOT define the element descriptionx. So why isn't Eclipse showing that element as an error?

Check your XML Files->Editor preference page for the "Use inferred grammar in absence of DTD/Schema" option. As long as the validation doesn't think you've specified a schema correctly, it won't flag anything as unknown since it's used to infer content assist proposals. Try creating a new XML file that refers to the same schema using the wizard and see if the document element is different.
