JAX-RS 2 : Multiple version of Jaxrs api in class path and application deployment failing with class cast...
Any help will be much appreciated.
I am working on a JAX-RS-2 webservice and we are using weblogic 12c server. The server is already having 'jersey-core-1.18.jar' in it's classpath and I cannot delete it because it is used by some other applications. Now since I am using JAX-RS 2 jars, I am getting class cast exception as below
java.lang.ClassCastException: Cannot cast com.sun.jersey.core.impl.provider.entity.StringProvider to javax.ws.rs.ext.MessageBodyReader.
I know that com.sun.jersey.core.impl.provider.entity.StringProvider is coming from 'jersey-core-1.18.jar'.
I also have weblogic.xml as below. Even after this weblogic is loading StringProvider and it is giving error.
How can I stop weblogic from loading this class?
Any help will be greatly helpful as I am stuck with this for last two days.
<weblogic-web-app xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-web-app">

I also tried by setting <prefer-web-inf-classes> to true. But it doesn't seem to work, server is still loading classes from the 'jersey-core-1.18.jar'
